Among his other accomplishments of the war, he was the first Captain of the light infantry company of the regiment, formed 1779.
After the war he was one of the early members of the Society of Cincinnati, and one of the primitive settlers of Ohio.
He was cousins with Jeremiah Olney and Stephen Olney.
